In which Sherlock Holmes meets Dr. John Watson and they work on a case together about a dead woman dressed all in pink. In their first meeting, Holmes deduces that John Watson is a military man just back from Iraq or Afghanistan. Later Holmes makes deductions from Watson's smart phone including that it was giving to him by his brother, Harry, but it turns out Harry is Harriet and John's sister. See some scenes cut from PBS broadcast.
"A Study in Scarlet"(First Story Written about Sherlock Holmes)
w. Arthur Conan Doyle
In which Sherlock Holmes meets Dr. John Watson and they work on a case together about a dead man. In their first meeting, Holmes deduces that Watson is a military man just back from Afghanistan which the British had invaded in the 1880s. Later Holmes makes deductions from Watson's watch figuring out it was the property of his brother, Harry, who had a drinking problem. Holmes also deduced other things about John's family life.

"The Blind Banker"
w. Stephen Thompson    d. Euros Lyn
A bank has been broken into and graffiti painted on a wall. Then a trader is killed who just got back from China in a locked room high up: no one could have gotten into the flat. Then another person just back from China is also killed, also in a locked room. Each had a tattoo on their foot. Sherlock figures out they were smuggling things in from China, but he needs to crack a book code and can't figure out what book is used.
The Valley of Fear
w. Arthur Conan Doyle
A book code is sought and Holmes needs to figure out what book was used. The supposed victim was warned and he had a brand. But he killed his assassin and then made it look like the corpse was his body. Moriarity is involved but never seen.

"The Great Game"
w. Mark Gatiss    d. Paul McGuigan
In which Sherlock meets criminal mastermind Jim Moriarty who forces him to solve riddles in order to keep innocent people alive. While his brother Mycroft has a problem he wants Sherlock to devote his time to: the disappearance of the top secret Bruce-Partington Plans.
"The Bruce-Partington Plans"
w. Arthur Conan Doyle
Sherlock's brother Mycroft shows up to call on Sherlock to track down who might have stolen the Bruce-Partington Plans for a secret submarine. One of the clerks dealing with the planning has been found dead next to the underground tracks with some of the pages of the plans. Sherlock tells Watson that Mycroft is in effect the British government.
